Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha welcomed Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden Maria Malmer Stenergard, who arrived in Kyiv on a visit to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day.
"Right now, there is no greater task than defending against Russian ballistic terror, and our conversation centered on the concrete steps we are taking. We are advancing the Anti-ballistic coalition to build shared defense solutions, coordinating to secure and deliver additional interceptors from partners, and preparing new anti-ballistic sanctions to disrupt Russia’s production chains. Sweden’s exceptional Gripen jets are preparing to protect Ukrainian skies — we took stock of the implementation schedule for our leaders’ agreements, as well as our ongoing work on the bilateral Drone Deal," Sybiha wrote on X on Monday.
He thanked his Swedish counterpart for supporting Ukraine and for substantive talks, and informed her about the situation on the battlefield and Russian threats in the Black Sea to ensure freedom of navigation and the unhindered export of Ukrainian and global grain.
