Ukraine, through its struggle, is breaking the dysfunctional scenario of the global world order and proving on the battlefield the necessity for new effective peace guarantees, stated Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov.
"35 years ago, the world witnessed the collapse of a totalitarian empire under the label of the USSR. We gained the opportunity to reclaim our historical agency, liberate the Ukrainian nation from Russian enslavement, and received new opportunities for the spiritual and value renewal of Ukraine," he said at the "35 Years of Faith and Freedom" forum in Kyiv on Sunday.
The General emphasized that today Ukraine is passing "through the harshest phase of confrontation with Russian totalitarianism, which is attempting to enslave us once again."
"We clearly realize that this is a struggle for the structure of global world security. Ukraine is not merely fighting for its existence. We are breaking the dysfunctional scenario of the world order and proving on the battlefield the necessity for new effective peace guarantees. For all peace guarantees. Today we understand that our shared values with the West require practical and fast solutions. And I want to emphasize, specifically fast and effective solutions," he noted.
Separately, he stressed that "weakness only attracts the aggressor, while those who combine the steadfastness of spiritual values, strong weaponry, and strategic calculation emerge victorious."
Budanov welcomed the creation of the Faith and Freedom Center in Ukraine on the eve of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, calling it "the right tool for coordinating free nations, uniting Ukraine, the United States of America, and most countries of the civilized world."
