President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy states that the American side has officially shed its illusions regarding the position of Russia in the Russo-Ukrainian war.
"I am glad that in the States, all illusions have vanished regarding whether Russia truly wants to end this war. I believe that in America, all contradictions and phobias concerning Russia will disappear. We need to force the Russians to the negotiating table. We finally need sanctions after which they will howl. We need to give Ukraine everything that will compel them to end the war. And this is possible. Regarding everything that protects Ukraine today, we were initially told ‘impossible,’ then ‘very difficult,’ then ‘not so fast.’ And then America made the decisions. It worked. And America’s strength was unconditional," Zelenskyy said in a greeting to the citizens of Ukraine on Independence Day on Monday morning.
He emphasized that Ukraine is not asking to "fight for us," but only asking to be given "everything to stop this war, to stop it faster than Putin manages to start the next one."
The President of Ukraine also called on the PRC to respond to the actions and statements of the RF in order to confirm its own leadership ambitions on the world stage.
"China must no longer remain silent. When someone dresses up in a sailor suit and side cap and, poorly pronouncing certain words, talks about a nuclear strike, China must react, must cool down the fervor. China must prove its ambition to be one of the world leaders, not only economically and technologically, but civilizationally — by making it clear that no dictators should threaten the planet with their old warheads," Zelenskyy emphasized.
The Head of the Ukrainian State called on European nations and the entire world for unity to put pressure on the aggressor, emphasizing that together with partner countries, Ukraine is capable of stopping the RF. The President noted that "there are more people on Ukraine’s side, more countries on the side of truth," and Ukraine has "countless" friends who will help it achieve peace.
"The day when there will be peace in Ukraine will also arrive. All of us are human; we all want to live not in ‘historical’ times, but simply in quiet, calm, safe times. In a peaceful Ukraine. One that made it. One that endured. One that preserved itself and its Independence. That is what we are fighting for. That is what we stand for. With faith in each other, in our Defense Forces, in our state," Zelenskyy concluded.
