As part of preparations for a meeting of foreign ministers, government representatives, and civil society, Canada is preparing to host the second International Conference dedicated, in particular, to the return of Ukrainian children, Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand said.
"Canada will soon host the second International Conference on the return of Ukrainian children, detained civilians, and prisoners of war," Anand said on X social media platform following a conversation with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.
According to her, during the talks, the parties discussed preparations for a meeting of foreign ministers, government representatives, civil society organizations, and other participants from around the world.
"We aim to facilitate new returns and support the rehabilitation and reintegration of people returning home," Anand said.
She said Canada will work with Ukraine, Norway, and other countries to strengthen international coordination, ensure compliance with international law, and call on Russia to fulfill its obligations.
