Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Johann Wadephul, who is currently visiting Kyiv, announced the allocation of an additional EUR 3 million to support Ukrainian veterans.

Wadephul made the announcement at the Ninth International Veterans Forum on Saturday in Kyiv.

"We will provide an additional EUR 3 million to support veterans. After all, Ukrainian veterans and those who help them deserve our deepest respect. We strongly support a comprehensive approach that ensures veterans’ needs are met within Ukraine’s existing social welfare system. This means ensuring that veterans receive the necessary assistance, are able to return to civilian life, apply their skills in the labor market, and strengthen their country," he said.

The Foreign Minister said veterans must be part of society, not left on the outside.

"Veterans are a tremendous asset to Ukraine. We must ensure that Ukraine can take advantage of this potential," he said.
