Germany is allocating an additional EUR 50 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine and EUR 10 million to NATO’s CAP (Comprehensive Assistance Package) fund, Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Johann Wadephul said.
He made the announcement at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiha in Kyiv.
"Germany is now allocating an additional EUR 50 million for humanitarian aid. These funds will go to UN agencies and NGOs that provide much-needed support to people in Kyiv, and especially in frontline areas," he said on Saturday.
The minister said Russia continues to attack energy infrastructure and is doing everything it can to once again use winter as a weapon. In particular, Germany will provide the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with additional generators.
"In addition, we are again contributing EUR 10 million to NATO’s CAP fund. With this funding, we are, among other things, supporting decentralized power supply for Ukrainian troops, providing vital medical equipment for military hospitals, and financing much-needed anti-drone systems," Wadephul said.
