As a result of a Russian ballistic missile strike on a railway facility in Darnytsia, Kyiv, one employee was killed, and the station building at Rozdilna on Odesa Railway was damaged, according to Chairman of the board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Pertsovsky.
"Another night of terrorist attacks on the railway. In Darnytsia, one of the railway facilities was struck by ballistic missiles. Simultaneously (or even a second before – we’re currently clarifying the details) with the emergence of the ballistic threat," Pertsovsky said in a post shared on Facebook Saturday morning.
According to him, one employee – a foreman – was killed on the spot, while the rest were quickly evacuated after the first strike.
"Our utmost concern and support go to the family of the railroad worker killed by the enemy. We are here to help them through this difficult time and beyond," the chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia said.
He also reported an attack on Odesa Railway.
"Here at Rozdilna station, the station building was destroyed (see photo). The damage is already being repaired, and the enemy has not disrupted our train service!" Pertsovsky said.
