Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia's war against Ukraine is a test that could affect any country, and called on partners to be prepared for an escalation of Russian aggression.
"Russia's war against our country is a test. It is a test of war against any country. I am certain of this," Zelenskyy said during a speech on Friday.
According to him, some European countries are reluctant to speak openly about the possibility of the war spreading; however, in his view, this issue must be discussed honestly and openly, and everyone must be prepared for such a turn of events.
The president also thanked everyone who supports Ukraine through the United24 fundraising platform.
"And since United24 began operations – from the platform's founding back in 2022 to the present – nearly $4 billion has already been raised for Ukraine's needs through this fundraising effort alone," he said.
According to Zelenskyy, $3.7 billion of this amount was allocated to Ukraine's defense, primarily for technologies that help save the lives of military personnel, including drones and ground-based robotic systems.
He also said the largest contributions through United24 came from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, Austria, Italy, Norway, Belgium, Ireland, Japan, Poland, and a number of other countries.
The president said some of the countries whose citizens are helping Ukraine cannot be named publicly due to potential problems for the donors themselves.
