The Coalition of the Willing, which brings together countries that support Kyiv, will meet on Monday at 13:00 Kyiv time in a "hybrid" format, meaning that some participants will attend the event in person, while others – including French President Emmanuel Macron – will participate via videoconference, the Élysée Palace said in a statement on Friday.
"This meeting will be co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron (who will participate via videoconference), German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and, for the first time, the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will also take part," the statement reads.
The statement notes that following the summit, the leaders intend to strengthen support for Ukraine to defend it against Russian aggression. "This meeting will also allow for continued work on security guarantees to help establish a just, lasting, and sustainable peace in Ukraine in accordance with the Paris Declaration of January 6, 2026," the Élysée Palace said.
As previously reported, at the initiative of Bernam, Macron, and Merz, the leaders will gather for a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Kyiv on Ukraine's Independence Day, August 24. NATO will be represented by Deputy Secretary General Radmila Šekerinska. European Council President António Costa will also participate in the meeting.
