The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) is recruiting veterans from Vinnytsia and Mykolaiv regions for a social entrepreneurship school as part of its reintegration programme.
"The Ukrainian Red Cross Society is announcing recruitment of participants for the social entrepreneurship school as part of the 'Supporting the Reintegration of Veterans in Ukraine' programme.
The social entrepreneurship school is designed to help veterans and their family members create businesses that not only generate profit but also address important social challenges and contribute to community development. Participants will be able to receive grant funding of up to EUR 12,500 to launch or develop a social business project," the URCS said on Facebook on Friday.
The programme is open to veterans who have completed their service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as their family members. Families of service members who are missing or are or were in captivity are also invited to participate (parents, wives/husbands and children). Participants must reside in Vinnytsia or Mykolaiv region.
The programme includes training in the development and management of social enterprises. Participants will work on creating a sustainable business model and undergo training in financial management, communications and customer acquisition. Practical workshops and meetings with experts are also planned. Veterans will receive mentoring support in preparing a business plan and financial model. After a grant is awarded, support will be provided for implementation of the project.
The training programme will last two to three months.
Preference will be given to initiatives that create a positive impact for communities, promote social cohesion or help address pressing social challenges.
A participant may take part in only one of the programme's tracks: the veteran business school or the social entrepreneurship school.
The "Supporting the Reintegration of Veterans in Ukraine" programme is being implemented by the URCS with the support of the Danish Red Cross. The International Institute of Management is providing the programme's training component.
