Under conditions of full-scale war, Russians may use mass events for Ukraine’s Independence Day to conduct shelling, provocations, terrorist attacks, sabotage, cyberattacks, and other crimes, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) warns.
"The Security Service urges citizens to be vigilant and act responsibly regarding their own safety. On the eve of and during festive events, several basic rules should be observed: do not ignore air raid sirens and locate the nearest shelter in advance; do not approach suspicious objects and do not attempt to move or inspect them yourself; in case of detecting suspicious individuals, objects, or other signs of potential illegal activity, notify law enforcement," according to a statement on the SBU Telegram channel.
Citizens are also reminded not to publish photos or videos indicating locations of military personnel, critical infrastructure facilities, checkpoints, air defense assets, etc.; not to share information regarding the aftermath of strikes, air defense operations, or movements of Ukrainian troops; and not to fulfill requests from unknown individuals proposing doubtful tasks, including taking photos or videos of specific facilities, delivering packages, or leaving objects in designated places, even if they present themselves as law enforcement officers.
"Separately, the SBU draws citizens’ attention to attempts by Russian special services to recruit Ukrainians for preparing terrorist attacks and committing acts of sabotage. If unknown individuals offer money for arson, property damage, placing unknown objects, gathering information on military facilities, or other illegal actions, do not agree to such offers and immediately report them to the SSU," the Service emphasized.
In case of receiving information regarding preparations for sabotage, terrorist acts, recruitment, or other activities that may pose a threat to state security, citizens are asked to contact the SBU via the hotline at 1516, report via the "Burn the FSB Agent" chatbot, or email [email protected].
