Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko met with newly appointed head of the Canadian Police Mission in Ukraine Brian Donaldson, according to a press release from the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"The parties identified priorities for further cooperation and discussed the exchange of international experience," the ministry said in the statement on the Telegram channel.
Pavlichenko focused particular attention on improving security in local communities. She noted the successful results of the Community Police Officer and Educational Safety Service projects and emphasized the importance of strengthening the protection of children in cyberspace.
For his part, Donaldson outlined the key priorities for the mission's activities. These include training police officers to respond to modern threats, developing community policing, implementing the Safe Schools project, and strengthening instructor capacity.
In addition, the head of the mission announced that a large-scale conference involving female police officers will be held in 2027, aimed at supporting women's leadership and recognizing women's contributions to law enforcement.
