Zaluzhny, Zelenskyy, Budanov remain Ukraine's most trusted leaders – poll
Ukraine's Ambassador to the United Kingdom and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (2021-2024) Valeriy Zaluzhny maintains the highest level of trust among Ukrainians: 68% of respondents trust him, according to the results of a poll conducted by the Rating sociological group.
At the same time, 21% of citizens do not trust Zaluzhny.
In second place is Kyrylo Budanov, with 62% trust and 21% distrust. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is trusted by 59% of those surveyed, while 38% do not trust him.
"As of early August, 58% trust Mykhailo Fedorov, while 17% do not. Over the past few weeks, there have been shifts in trust levels: by the middle of July (specifically, before the protests began), 35% of respondents trusted Fedorov; in the second half of July, that figure rose to two-thirds (65-68%)," according to the poll results.
The newly appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty is trusted by 56% of respondents, distrusted by 12%, and 23% said they had not yet heard of him. At the same time, 70% of those surveyed reported that they were not familiar with the newly appointed Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky. The level of trust in him stands at 10%, while distrust stands at 12%.
If a presidential election were held today, incumbent President Zelenskyy would still lead in voter support with 25.2%. Zaluzhnyy ranks second with 16.7%, and Fedorov ranks third with 12.5%.
Next on the list are Budanov, for whom 7.9% are ready to vote, and Petro Poroshenko with 5.6%. Dmytro Razumkov, Yulia Tymoshenko, Andriy Biletsky, Serhiy Prytula, and Yuriy Boiko received between 1.7% and 2.8% of the vote. Another 5.5% of respondents would not participate in the election, and 11.9% were undecided.
The survey was conducted on August 5-6, 2026. Survey method: CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interview), 1,000 respondents were interviewed. The random sample of mobile phone numbers included Ukrainian citizens aged 18 and older from all regions, excluding temporarily occupied territories and areas where Ukrainian mobile service was unavailable at the time of the survey.
The results were weighted using current data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. The sample is representative by age, gender, and type of settlement (margin of error – no more than 3.1% with a confidence level of 0.95).
