Zelenskyy, Azerbaijani FM discuss defence cooperation, drone deal implementation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in Kyiv with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, during which the parties discussed defense cooperation – in particular, the implementation of the Drone Deal – as well as cooperation in the energy, oil and gas, and agricultural sectors, according to the press service of the head of state.
It is noted that this is Bayramov's first visit to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.
"We are very grateful that, during these difficult days for our country and our people, you found the opportunity to come and support us," Zelenskyy said.
During the meeting, he thanked Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev for their support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for their energy and humanitarian aid.
The president also briefed the Azerbaijani side on the ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine, the situation in the Black Sea, Russia's blockade of grain corridors, Ukraine's diplomatic contacts with partners, and the progress of the diplomatic process.
For his part, Bayramov assured Ukraine of continued political and humanitarian support.
"You can fully rely on us and our political support. And, as you well know, Mr. President, we are quite vocal and straightforward when it comes to our full solidarity with Ukraine, its territorial integrity, and the inviolability of Ukraine's internationally recognized borders," he said.
