Representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) and the Danish Red Cross presented a program titled "Support for Veterans and Communities Affected by the War in Ukraine" in Kirovohrad region, which will soon be implemented there.

"The program is aimed at supporting veterans and their family members, including through business development, social initiatives, training, mentorship support and other opportunities to strengthen economic capacity and social cohesion," URCS said on Facebook on Thursday.

The program includes a competition for veteran-led social initiatives, the statement said. Participants will be able to present their ideas, receive funding and implement them in their communities. Ten such projects are planned to be supported annually in Kirovohrad region.

Participants will also be able to join a veteran social entrepreneurship development program. It includes three months of training in business plan development, after which the best projects will receive grants to start or expand their own businesses. Priority will be given to innovative business ideas with social impact.

In addition to financial support, program participants will receive individual mentorship to help them carry out their social projects and business ideas effectively.

Veterans and their family members will be able to apply to the program starting in September.
