Russia launched a missile strike on Kyiv on Friday, July 24.
"Explosions in the city. Air defense forces are operating in the capital," said Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
The Ukrainian Air Force Command confirmed missile movement toward the capital.
"Several high-speed targets are heading toward Kyiv," the message reads.
Explosions were also heard in Kyiv region, Interfax-Ukraine correspondents report. In some places, the explosions had been heard before the air raid siren was announced.
