An L-39 combat trainer crashed in Chuhuyiv, Ukraine's Kharkiv region. A cadet died, a source at the Ukrainian General Staff has told Interfax-Ukraine.
"Just a few hours ago an L-39 combat trainer of the Kharkiv Aviation Institute crashed. According to the preliminary reports, the cadet pilot died in the crash," he said.
Causes and details of the crash are being investigated.
The Czech Aero L-39 Albatros has been a combat trainer of CIS member countries for years. There is a Ukrainian modification of that plane, L-39M1.
