Merz meets Zelenskyy in Ankara, urges NATO allies to continue EUR 70 bln support in 2026-2027

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara.

According to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, the leaders held talks on Tuesday evening.

"Ukraine can count on us. At the NATO summit, Germany is calling on allies for continued support – EUR 70 billion in both 2026 and 2027. I've assured Volodymyr Zelenskyy of our full support," Merz said on the X social media platform.
