The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) has transferred modern equipment to voluntary fire brigades of the Kyiv region.
"The Ukrainian Red Cross continues to support the development of local response systems and strengthen the capacity of communities to act in emergency situations. Sixty sets of modern equipment were handed over to voluntary fire brigades from 22 communities of the Kyiv region," the URCS reported on Facebook on Thursday.
The equipment sets include combat clothing, helmets, fire hoses, nozzles, motor pumps, shields, and other equipment necessary for rapid response to emergency situations.
The transfer of equipment took place with the support of the US government.
"Today, voluntary fire brigades are an important part of the emergency response system in Ukraine. After all, every minute matters, and the distance to professional units can be significant," the URCS noted.
