A team from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) participated in search and rescue operations following a Russian airstrike on the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv over the weekend.
"A rapid response unit of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, together with other special services, worked at the site of the morning strike on Kharkiv. Volunteers took part in search and rescue operations, particularly helping clear rubble, extricating casualties from under debris, and transferring them to emergency medical care crews," the URCS reported on Facebook.
Thanks to the joint efforts and coordinated work of all services, eight people were rescued from under the rubble. Volunteers also conducted a walkthrough of damaged homes and surrounding areas, participated in the evacuation of residents, and provided first aid and psychological support.
At the site of the liquidation of the attack's consequences, the URCS deployed a support station. Victims are being provided with humanitarian aid, including OSB boards, tarpaulins, blankets, hygiene kits, sleeping kits for children, and drinking water.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as a result of the Russian airstrike on the Kholodnohirsky district of Kharkiv on Saturday, one person was killed and nine were injured, including two children. A two-story residential building was damaged due to the hit by a guided aerial bomb.
