The Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service (NACS), Nataliia Aliushyna, does not intend to remain in her position after her contract expires at the end of May.

Aliushyna has held the post for six years, having first arrived in 2020 under a one-year "COVID" contract. Her subsequent five-year fixed-term contract concludes on June 1 of this year. In an interview with Interfax-Ukraine, she stated that she has achieved the five global goals she set upon taking office. These included the large-scale reform of labor remuneration, the launch of the Human Resources Management Information System (HRMIS), restoring trust in civil service competitive procedures, establishing the Higher School of Public Administration along with the English for Public Service project, and supporting the adoption of the new law on service in local self-government bodies.

Regarding her future, Aliushyna noted it is currently difficult to say whether she will remain in public service or move to the private sector. She plans to take her first vacation in six years and emphasized that she will remain in Ukraine.

Aliushyna was reappointed as head of NACS in May 2021 following a competitive selection process. Her previous experience includes serving as director of the General Department for Personnel Management in the Civil Service at the NACS apparatus and as general director of the Directorate for Energy Policy Coordination and Environmental Protection at the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine.
