Poltava Regional Military Administration head Vitaliy Dyakivnych announced two days of mourning for those killed in Russian strikes on Naftogaz of Ukraine facilities overnight Tuesday.

"May 5 and 6 have been declared days of mourning in Poltava region," he wrote on Telegram.

Dyakivnych confirmed five fatalities, including three oil and gas enterprise workers and two rescuers, and 37 wounded, some of them in serious condition.

As reported, the occupants attacked a gas extraction facility in Poltava region. When State Emergency Service units arrived at the scene and began extinguishing a large-scale fire, the enemy struck the location again with a missile.

In total, Russia has attacked Naftogaz facilities approximately 100 times since the start of the current year.
