Russia attacks Ukrzaliznytsia infrastructure in Kharkiv, Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions
Russian forces used drones to attack and destroy a railway wagon in Kharkiv region at around 07:30 Tuesday, with no casualties reported, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Community and Territory Development Oleksiy Kuleba said.
"But most importantly, people are safe. The monitoring centre worked, allowing the conductor to move to a mobile shelter in time. The locomotive crew was also kept safe. Preliminarily, no casualties reported," Kuleba wrote on Telegram Tuesday.
According to him, in Poltava region an enemy drone struck between the rails next to a diesel locomotive, damaging a wagon and causing a fire. No casualties reported.
In Dnipropetrovsk region, damage to an electric locomotive on the track was recorded during a drone attack.
The train had been stopped in advance due to drone danger, so staff were warned ahead of time and were in a shelter. No casualties reported.
"Even in these conditions, we are protecting people. The railway is operating. Movement continues," Kuleba added.
