Sybiha and Anand discuss preparations for International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children meeting
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand met in Yerevan to discuss the upcoming high-level meeting regarding the return of Ukrainian children, scheduled for May 11 in Brussels.
The return of children remains a priority and a shared humanitarian responsibility, according to Sybiha, who emphasized the importance of Canada’s leadership in this effort. The International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children meeting will be co-hosted by Sybiha and Anand, alongside EU High Representative Kaja Kallas and Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Marta Kos.
During the meeting, Sybiha also updated Anand on the battlefield situation, current peace efforts, and Ukraine’s progress toward EU membership. He noted that Ukraine remains focused on strengthening security, implementing reforms, and advancing toward full EU membership. Sybiha expressed gratitude to Canada for its ongoing support of the Ukrainian community and its continued solidarity.
