One killed, five injured in Kherson region due to Russian shelling on May 1 – prosecutor's office
Russian occupation forces shelled Kherson region with artillery, mortars and drones; since the start of the day and as of 17:30, one person was reported killed and five injured, the regional prosecutor’s office has said.
"According to the investigation, on May 1, 2026, the Russian army shelled Kherson region with artillery, mortars and drones. As of 17:30, it was recorded that one person was killed and five were injured as a result of Russian aggression," the prosecutor’s office said on Telegram on Friday.
It is reported that at around 06:00, Russian troops directed a drone at a cyclist moving along a street in Kherson. A 65-year-old man died at the scene. Another four people in Kherson, including a police officer, and one person in Antonivka were injured in enemy UAV attacks. In addition, private houses and apartment buildings, a post office, a shop and vehicles were damaged.
