SBU together with Defense Forces strike Tuapse port oil terminal again – official
Drones from the SBU Alpha Special Operations Center, in cooperation with other components of the Security and Defense Forces including the GUR and SBS, have once again struck the infrastructure of the Tuapse sea port and the Tuapse Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Krai of Russia, the SBU reported on its Telegram channel on Friday.
The Ukrainian special service notes that the sea oil terminal and the Tuapse Oil Refinery are vital production complexes and logistical hubs that provide the link between the extraction, processing, and export of Russian oil. The report emphasizes that the Tuapse Oil Refinery is the only Russian refinery on the Black Sea coast, with a capacity of approximately 12 million tons of oil per year.
As a result of the strike by Ukrainian drones, a fire involving an oil-fuel mixture broke out in the storage tanks, with a column of black smoke rising over the terminal. The Security Service continues to inflict serious damage on the Russian economy by targeting facilities that provide oil-dollar revenues to its budget. Such special operations reduce Russia’s ability to continue the war against Ukraine, and this work will continue in the future, the report concludes.
