Cyberpolice warn of fraudulent calls from individuals posing as bank employees

The Cyberpolice of Ukraine warned citizens about a fraudulent scheme where criminals call Ukrainians, identifying themselves as bank employees, to obtain payment card data or passwords for access to online banking. According to a message from the agency, the goal of these criminals is to trick people into providing bank card details or login credentials under false pretenses in order to empty their accounts.

Police urged citizens that if they receive a message allegedly from a bank regarding the need for specific actions, they should not disclose confidential or financial data to strangers. The agency noted that it is better to independently call the support service of your bank to verify the information.
