Zelenskyy: Russians launch 210 strike drones overnight into Friday, around 140 of them Shaheds
Russians continue to attack critical infrastructure and civilian facilities, launching 210 strike drones overnight into Friday, around 140 of them Shaheds, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
"Russia continues to attack our energy sector, critical infrastructure and civilian facilities. This night saw 210 strike drones, and around 140 of them were Shaheds. These daily strikes show that more pressure on Russia is needed. The aggressor must be weakened so that Europe has more security. The continuation of sanctions policy is necessary, as is synchronization of all our sanctions with partners," Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram Friday.
Five people are known to have been wounded and fires broke out in two buildings as a result of strikes in Odesa, and one person was wounded in Kryvyi Rih.
"In Kharkiv region, railway infrastructure was attacked, traction substations were struck. There was damage and wagon fires. Thousands of families were left without power due to the shelling. Sumy region and Zaporizhia region were also struck," the president said.
He stressed that Ukraine’s long-range sanctions are bringing Russians back to reality.
"And this is absolutely fair, and most importantly – it limits Russia’s ability to prolong this war. If Russia does not want to move to diplomacy voluntarily, it must be forced to do so," the head of state said.
