Air defence eliminates 190 of 210 enemy drones, hits by 20 drones recorded at 14 locations – Air Force
The defence forces eliminated 190 of 210 enemy drones, however hits by 20 drones were recorded at 14 locations, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
"According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defence shot down/suppressed 190 enemy Shahed, Herber, Italmas and other type drones in the north, south and east of the country," the statement said.
In total, overnight on May 1 (from 17:45 on April 30), the enemy attacked with 210 strike drones of the Shahed (including jet-powered), Herber, Italmas and other types from the directions of Kursk, Shatalovo, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea, and temporarily occupied Donetsk, with around 140 of them being Shaheds.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s defence forces.
Meanwhile, hits by 20 strike drones were recorded at 14 locations, and wreckage of downed drones fell at 10 locations.
