109 combat engagements recorded at front over past day – General Staff
Russian forces have attacked Ukrainian defence forces positions 109 times since the start of the day, with the enemy most active on the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
"109 combat engagements have taken place since the start of the day. The enemy carried out 51 air strikes and dropped 166 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy employed 5,980 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,201 shellings of settlements and our troops’ positions," the statement said.
On the northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, the defense forces repelled three enemy attacks; the occupants conducted 64 shellings of Ukrainian troop positions and settlements, including 10 using multiple launch rocket systems.
On the southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, the enemy launched five assaults on Ukrainian unit positions in the areas of Lyman, Starytsia, Vovchansk and Okhrimivka. Three engagements are still ongoing.
On the Kupyansk direction, the enemy attacked five times toward Kurylvika, Kindrashivka and Novoplatonivka. One engagement is still ongoing.
On the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repelled five attempts by the invaders to advance toward Stavky, Drobysheve, Lyman and Dibrova. One engagement is still ongoing.
On the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled two occupant assaults in the areas of Zakitne and Yampil. One engagement is still ongoing.
The defense forces successfully repelled 15 enemy assaults on the Kostiantynivka direction near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Stepanivka, Sofiivka, Illinivka and Ivanopillia.
On the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy launched 20 attacks. The occupants attempted to advance in the areas of Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Myrnograd, Muravka, Kotlyne, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Udachne and Molodetske. One engagement is still ongoing.
"According to preliminary estimates, 66 occupants were eliminated and 19 wounded on this direction today; eight motor vehicles and three special vehicles were destroyed, two artillery systems, nine motor vehicles, one drone command post and 20 enemy infantry shelters were damaged. 241 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were destroyed or suppressed," the statement said.
On the Oleksandrivka direction, the occupants made two attempts to improve their positions, attacking toward Verbove and Zlahoda.
On the Huliaipole direction, nine occupant attacks took place in the areas of Dobropillia, Staroukrainka, Varvarivka, Tsvіtkove, Olenokostiantynivka, Huliaipilske and Charivne.
On the Orikhiv direction, the enemy carried out one attack toward Pavlivka and air strikes on the areas of Tavriiske and Komyshuvaкha.
On the Prydniprovske direction, the defense forces repelled four enemy assaults near Antonivsky bridge and Bilohrudyi island.
