A project with video lessons about traditional folk rituals has been launched in Ukraine - Gnat Korobko
The educational initiative "Know Your Ukraine" has launched a project that tells about Ukrainian traditions, rites and cultural heritage in an accessible and modern video format. The first video lessons of Ukrainian spring dances for children and youth are already available there. This was stated by the patron and co-founder of the project Gnat Korobko.
"The project is designed to briefly and excitingly introduce the younger audience to elements of traditional culture that can not only be seen but also tried to recreate in everyday life. Today, such practices are gaining new significance. In the context of digitalization, when a significant part of children's communication has moved online, traditional dances can become a natural way to return to live interaction, physical activity and a sense of community," – said Gnat Korobko.
As the patron noted, in the future, the project channel plans to publish educational videos dedicated to traditional Ukrainian culture.
"The launch of the YouTube channel for the "Know Your Ukraine" project is another step towards making Ukrainian cultural heritage more accessible. In the future, the channel plans to publish educational videos dedicated to traditional Ukrainian culture, folk rituals, calendar holidays, seasonal customs. We want Ukrainian tradition to live not only in museums or books, but in the modern life of children and youth. That is why it is important to present cultural heritage in an accessible and understandable format,” – said Gnat Korobko.
“Know Your Ukraine” is an educational project about traditional Ukrainian culture, which, in partnership with cultural institutions and with the support of the philanthropist Gnat Korobko, creates educational courses, lessons and practical materials for schools, educators and a wide audience. In total, the educational blocks “Pokrova” and “Rizdvo” were attended by more than 18 thousand people.
