Police search for person who wounded members of TRC notification group in Rivne region – official

Police are searching for a man who used an automatic weapon to wound members of a territorial recruitment center (TRC) notification group in the village of Verba, Dubno district, Rivne region, according to the Rivne region police communication department.

"Two people were wounded as a result of the shooting. The identity of the attacker has been established. The head of the Rivne region police has initiated a special police operation. Yesterday, April 29, at approximately 5 p.m., servicemen of a notification group together with a community police officer in the village of Verba, Dubno district, saw a man walking with a bicycle in his hands. As they approached the man to check his documents, he opened fire on the military and police with an automatic rifle. One serviceman and a police officer were wounded," the police stated on their Facebook page.

Criminal proceedings have been opened for attempted premeditated murder.

Police are searching for the attacker.
