Armed Forces of Ukraine Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky announced the signing of an order on mandatory rotation of servicemen who have been at combat positions for more than two months.

"With the aim of preserving the lives and health of servicemen performing tasks both on the line of contact and in the depth of the defence, I have signed an order on mandatory rotation of servicemen performing tasks at the front line. Commanders must ensure conditions for servicemen to remain at positions for up to two months, followed by mandatory replacement (rotation), which must be carried out within no more than one month. Rotations of our troops must be planned in advance, taking into account the situation, the nature of combat operations and available forces and means," Syrsky wrote on Telegram Thursday.

The order also stipulates mandatory medical examination and rest time for servicemen who have completed combat tasks, as well as timely provision of ammunition and food to servicemen performing combat tasks at positions.

"The order is mandatory for all units performing combat tasks at the front line… Compliance with the order’s requirements will be under strict control. Violations will result in inevitable liability in accordance with current legislation and AFU regulations," the commander-in-chief stressed.

Syrsky also noted that amid drone dominance on the battlefield, the very logic of combat operations is changing: "the concepts of the front line, rear and depth of combat formations have substantially transformed, and logistics and movement both on the battlefield and from the front line to the rear have become more complex."
