Air defense eliminates 172 of 206 enemy drones, but ballistic missile hit recorded

The defense forces eliminated 172 of 206 enemy drones, however a ballistic missile hit and hits by 32 strike drones at 22 locations were recorded, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.

"According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defence shot down/suppressed 172 enemy Shahed, Herber, Italmas and other type drones in the north, south, west and east of the country," the statement said.

In total, overnight on April 30 (from 18:00 on April 29), the enemy attacked with a ballistic Iskander-M missile from Russia’s Rostov region, and 206 strike drones of the Shahed (including jet-powered), Herber, Italmas and other types from the directions of Kursk, Bryansk, Shatalovo, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and temporarily occupied Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea, with more than 140 of them being Shaheds.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s defence forces.

Meanwhile, a ballistic missile hit and hits by 32 strike drones were recorded at 22 locations, and wreckage of downed drones fell at 9 locations.
