Ukraine sanctions child abductors, 23 Russian shadow fleet vessels – Zelenskyy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced the introduction of a new sanctions package against Russian entities involved in the abduction of Ukrainian children and against vessels of Russia’s shadow fleet.
"The first sanctions list includes individuals working to remove Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories, destroy their identity, and hide them from their families and from Ukraine. Among these sanctioned individuals are officials of Russia’s state system, collaborators in the temporarily occupied territory, and propagandists," Zelenskyy said on Telegram on Wednesday.
According to him, the second sanctions list includes 23 vessels used by Russia for oil exports.
"Partner sanctions have already been applied to part of this list as well. We are working to synchronize all our sanctions regimes – partner sanctions in Ukraine and Ukrainian sanctions in the jurisdictions of partners," the head of state said.
Zelenskyy also announced "another sanctions package of particular weight" in the near future, without specifying details.
