The High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine has recovered to state revenue the value of an unsubstantiated asset belonging to the head of a department of the State Migration Service (SMS) in Khmelnytsky region.

"The High Anti-Corruption Court recognized part of the asset as unsubstantiated, namely a construction object – a multifunctional complex with a total area of 913.8 square meters, which includes a mixed trade store, a cafe, office premises and a residential apartment," the HACC said on Telegram.

The court recovered UAH 7.3 million of the value of the unsubstantiated asset to state revenue. The recovery is carried out from two individuals in equal shares (UAH 3,674,218.41 from each).

As reported, the State Bureau of Investigation and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit with the HACC in early January to recover unsubstantiated assets of the head of one of the departments of the SMS of Ukraine in Khmelnytsky region to state revenue.

During the investigation, the SBI established that in 2023, the official’s wife registered ownership of a shopping center in the village of Chornyi Ostriv, Khmelnytsky district. The area of the object is 933.2 square meters, and its value is almost UAH 14 million. At the same time, the couple did not have sufficient legal income to acquire such property.

After processing the data, the SAP prosecutor appealed to the High Anti-Corruption Court with a lawsuit to recover UAH 7 million 348,000 – the amount representing the difference between the value of the acquired property and the confirmed legal income of the official and his family.

The HACC did not disclose the name of the official; however, it was noted that he is the head of the Khmelnytsky department of the SMS in Khmelnytsky region. According to open sources, this structure is headed by Vadym Sidletsky.
