Zelenskyy: Ukraine to increase ranges of 'long-range sanctions'
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine will continue to extend the range of its strikes on Russian territory – currently already exceeding 1,500 km – calling it a just response to Russian terror.
As the president wrote on Telegram, such actions are weakening Russia’s military industry, logistics and oil exports, and should also serve as a signal to Moscow of the need to end the war and move toward diplomacy.
"The straight-line distance is over 1,500 km. We will increase the relevant ranges, and these are entirely just Ukrainian responses to Russian terror. Importantly, every hit reduces the capabilities of Russia’s military industry, logistics and oil exports," Zelenskyy wrote following a briefing by acting State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) head Yevhen Khmara on long-range sanctions.
He noted that the results are obvious to all.
"That Russia needs to end its war is also obvious to all. It is time to move to diplomacy, and Moscow should heed this signal," the president stressed.
As reported, on April 28 operators of the 1st Separate Centre and the 413th Raid Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in coordination with other defence forces components, struck the Rosneft oil refinery in Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai, Russia, for the third time this month.
