The Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia has supported an order prepared by the Ministry of Defense to transfer additional Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked) or CVR(T) units to Ukraine.

The announcement was made on the website of the Latvian Ministry of Defense.

"Taking into account the current needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we will hand over additional CVR(T) armored combat reconnaissance tracked vehicles to Ukraine to support Ukraine's fight against Russia, and we will continue to do so as long as necessary," Minister of Defense Andris Sprūds said.

The Ministry of Defense stressed that the supply of specific armored vehicles to Ukraine will not affect the needs or operational capabilities of the National Armed Forces.

Latvia continues to provide military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2024, an agreement was concluded between Latvia and Ukraine on long-term support and security commitments, confirming Latvia's firm and unwavering support for Ukraine's security.

In 2025, Latvia's military support for Ukraine reached 0.3% of its gross domestic product (GDP), while in 2026, the volume of support is planned at 0.25% of GDP.
