Appeals Chamber upholds 5.5-year prison sentence for ex-judge for bribery
The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) upheld the verdict for former Kyiv District Administrative Court judge Olena Vlasenkova for bribery – five and a half years in prison; the defendant was taken into custody in the courtroom.
"On April 28, 2026, the HACC Appeals Chamber upheld the HACC verdict dated June 11, 2025, which found a former judge of the Kyiv District Administrative Court guilty of receiving an improper benefit for making procedural decisions in a case (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the HACC Appeals Chamber reported on Telegram on Tuesday.
While the report does not name the judge, it refers to Vlasenkova.
"The court of first instance sentenced the specified person to five years and six months of imprisonment with a prohibition on holding certain positions for three years and confiscation of all her property. Following the review, the HACC Appeals Chamber panel of judges left the appeals of the accused and her defense lawyers unsatisfied," the HACC Appeals Chamber informed.
The accused was taken into custody in the courtroom.
The decision entered into legal force upon announcement and may be appealed to the Cassation Criminal Court within the Supreme Court.
