State Customs Service refers materials on 9 officers to NABU for importing undeclared goods worth UAH 14 mln
The State Customs Service of Ukraine has completed an internal audit of Lviv customs officials’ compliance with customs legislation and referred materials regarding nine officers to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), whose actions led to a shortfall of approximately UAH 14 million in customs payments, the agency’s press service reports.
According to a report on the agency’s Telegram channel on Tuesday, the audit concerned the customs control of vehicles importing consumer goods (clothing, footwear, auto parts) from Poland through the Smilnytsya–Kroscienko and Krakivets–Korczowa checkpoints during 2024 and the first quarter of 2025.
The investigation established that the customs officers’ improper performance of duties allowed certain citizens to import part of the goods without official declaration. Since the officials’ actions show signs of criminal offenses, the materials were sent to NABU for legal assessment.
"Integrity must become the key standard for the service’s personnel reboot, and any manifestations of dishonesty or abuse will be assessed by law enforcement agencies," the publication quotes State Customs Service Head Orest Mandziy as saying.
The agency emphasized that countering corruption is a priority task for strengthening the institutional capacity of the customs service.
