Zelenskyy orders General Staff, Defense Ministry to review actual need for ground robotic systems monthly
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, where the key issues were ground robotic systems, protection against ballistic missiles and intelligence reports, and instructed the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Defense Ministry to review the actual need for ground robotic systems every month.
"The volume of contracts for ground robotic systems must be significantly higher than last year. We have already contracted 25,000 ground robotic systems – twice as many as last year, and this is only the initial level: the number will be increased, and significantly, contracting is ongoing. I am grateful to all manufacturers who ensure timely fulfillment of contracts, and to every one of our units and all commanders who are scaling up the use of ground robotic systems. I instructed the General Staff and the Defense Ministry of Ukraine to review every month the actual need for ground robotic systems and the level of supply," Zelenskyy said on Telegram on Monday.
The president also heard reports on supplies of missiles for anti-ballistic systems and on the implementation of agreements with partners.
"It is important that supplies for May be no less than what we have already received at the level of promises from partners, and this is a direct task for our diplomats and military command," he said.
In addition, the participants in the meeting discussed the status of work on alternative anti-ballistic protection systems available in the world and on Ukraine’s own developments.
"The Main Intelligence Agency and the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine delivered detailed reports on the state of Russia’s economy and social processes after the first quarter of this year: we are recording a significant deterioration in key indicators and noticeable Russian export losses. Despite attempts by the Russian leadership to use the war in Iran to improve its financial situation, the real results for Russia are negative. In particular, our long-range sanctions are contributing to this," the president said.
