Ukraine reserves right to full range of responses if Russian vessel with stolen grain unloads in Israel – media
If the vessel Panormitis, which carries wheat stolen from occupied Ukrainian territories, enters the port of Haifa and unloads its cargo, it will trigger a crisis in relations between Ukraine and Israel, Axios journalist Barak Ravid reported on X, citing a high-ranking Ukrainian diplomatic source.
"If this vessel and its cargo are not rejected, we reserve the right to engage the full range of diplomatic and international legal responses," the Ukrainian diplomatic source stated.
According to the source, Israel has ignored and continues to ignore Ukraine’s requests regarding a previous vessel that unloaded wheat Russia stole from the occupied territories of Ukraine.
"We are monitoring this new vessel and will not let this pass; if it is allowed to dock and unload, it will have consequences, especially for our bilateral relations. This feels like a slap in the face given the goodwill Ukraine has shown toward Israel: from designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization to condemning anti-Semitism. It should be beneath Israel’s dignity to profit from stolen property," the source added.
