Bad weather knocks out power in over 700 settlements across most regions, attacks cause outages in 7 regions – Ukrenergo

As of the morning of April 27, consumers in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kherson regions are without power due to Russian drone attacks, NPC Ukrenergo said Monday.

"Emergency restoration work has already begun everywhere that security conditions currently allow," the system operator said.

In addition, due to adverse weather conditions in the form of strong wind gusts and thunderstorms, more than 700 settlements across most Ukrainian regions are fully or partially without power as of Monday morning. Repair crews from regional energy distribution companies are already working to restore damaged lines.

According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption has fallen, and on April 27 at 09:30 it was 4.2% lower than at the same time on the previous working day – Friday, April 24.

"The reason for the change is sunny weather across all of Ukraine. This is driving effective operation of residential solar power stations and a corresponding reduction in electricity consumption from the general grid," Ukrenergo said. The large number of settlements without power due to the bad weather is also affecting electricity consumption levels.

The Ukrainian Energy Ministry confirmed that no consumption restrictions are forecast for April 27. Consumers can find out about any changes to their electricity supply on the official resources of their regional energy distribution companies, the ministry added.
