Armed Forces of Ukraine Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky met with Latvian National Armed Forces commander, Major General Kaspars Pudans and informed his counterpart that Ukraine’s defence forces are choosing an asymmetric strategy over a war of attrition model.

"In conditions where the enemy has greater resources in equipment, weaponry and personnel, Ukraine’s defence forces are choosing an asymmetric strategy over a war of attrition model," Syrsky wrote on Facebook.

The commander-in-chief stressed that "the key tasks are to make every step of the enemy as costly as possible, to destroy the enemy, to restrain its advance, to strike rear areas, including military-industrial complex facilities deep inside the Russian Federation’s territory using Deep Strike capabilities, and to protect Ukraine’s airspace."

He also thanked the Latvian government and people for their consistent support and significant political, financial and military assistance to Ukraine.

"We highly value Latvia’s significant contribution to the implementation of the Ukraine Priority Requirements List (PURL) program. I separately expressed gratitude for Latvia’s leading role in the Drone Coalition, as well as its active participation in the IT Coalition in support of Ukraine," he wrote.

For this reason, the commander-in-chief said, "the continuation of effective support for Ukraine by partner states is critically important. We count on further cooperation in the interests of peace and security of all of united Europe."
