We must preserve the state and stop populism - Poroshenko
People's Deputy of Ukraine and European Solidarity party leader Petro Poroshenko spoke at the Youth Vision 2026 youth forum, organized with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Poroshenko Foundation, the European Solidarity website reported.
The event, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the All-Ukrainian Youth Organization Solidarna Molod, was attended by youth from various regions of Ukraine, as well as honorary guests – European Parliament member and YEPP head Sofia Kircher, IYDU head Eva Dogalova, and EDS head Francesco Sismondini.
"This platform for unity, discussion and networking was created by our Solidarna Molod, led by Dinara Habibullayeva. We were genuinely impressed when the number of applications exceeded 500 instead of the planned 200," Poroshenko said.
He stressed that populism is one of the greatest threats to the country's future. "Populism is when there are no difficult solutions, only simple ones. This is very dangerous. Because in reality we will have to work very hard," the politician said, urging young people to counter the phenomenon.

The politician emphasized that the priority task is winning the war and preserving the state. "What tasks face our team today, just as they face the state? To preserve the people and win. Second – to preserve the state and win. And third – to bring Ukraine into the European Union," he said.
According to him, EU integration requires adherence to the rule of law, judicial independence, democracy and freedom of speech. "There is no democracy when the opposition is banned from parliamentary diplomacy," the party leader added.

Petro and Maryna Poroshenko also presented a grant program for civil society projects.
"We support the best ideas, people and teams that are already changing Ukraine today and will become the driving force of post-war reconstruction," Poroshenko said.
