Zelenskyy: Working on 5 bilateral deals during 1st visit to Azerbaijan since start of war
Ukraine is working on five bilateral agreements with Azerbaijan, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a national telethon.
"We will work today on five state bilateral treaties between Ukraine and Azerbaijan," he said.
The president reported meeting with an expert team sent to Azerbaijan. "According to this [expert] report, we will have agreements," he said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that this is his first visit to Azerbaijan during the war. "I think that says something… both cooperation and politics, and geopolitics, certainly," he said.
He noted that he would discuss defense cooperation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, adding, "we will discuss more than just the issue of drones."
Energy and investment will also be on the agenda. "Regarding Azerbaijani investments, we have good relations with the Socar company, we discussed… their investments in Ukraine," Zelenskyy said.
