Russia poisoning European societies with anti-Ukrainian disinformation – MEP Gregorova
Czech Member of the European Parliament Marketa Gregorova said democratic societies in Europe were vulnerable and were being gradually poisoned by Russian disinformation.
Speaking at the 18th annual Kyiv Security Forum, titled "Darkness or Dawn: Is There Light Ahead?" Gregorova said there was an ongoing process of gradual poisoning of European societies through disinformation. She noted that people in Europe were already being radicalized against Ukraine as a result of such disinformation and warned that if this continued, those sponsored by Moscow could come to power.
As reported by an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, she also stressed that European countries were paying too little attention to the problem.
Gregorova said democracies were very vulnerable and added that if there was one area where Russia was clearly winning the war, it was the information space, namely disinformation.
Kyiv Security Forum is an annual international event launched in 2007 on the initiative of Arseniy Yatsenyuk's Open Ukraine Foundation. This year it is being held on April 23-24.
