Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Oleksandr Syrsky met with the chiefs of the NATO and European Union military committees, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone and General Sean Clancy, who are visiting Ukraine.

"It is highly symbolic that the heads of the military committees of the two most powerful international security organizations are simultaneously in Ukraine. I took the opportunity to thank the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance for their consolidated support in the interests of Ukraine’s defense and the protection of the free world," Syrsky said on Telegram on Friday.

According to Syrsky, he informed his counterparts about the current situation on the frontline.

"Despite significant losses in personnel, weapons and military equipment, the enemy is not abandoning its offensive actions. To offset its quantitative advantage, Ukraine’s Defense Forces are using qualitative approaches to warfare, forcing the enemy to act under unfavorable conditions and constantly postpone the deadlines for fulfilling its assigned tasks. For four months in a row now, our unmanned systems units alone have been striking more enemy manpower than the enemy is capable of mobilizing," Syrsky told the military committee chiefs.

He said the AFU, together with other components of the Defense Forces, continue carrying out fire missions against key facilities of the enemy’s military-industrial complex and military infrastructure. As a result, the direct and indirect economic losses inflicted on the enemy amount to about $25.5 billion.

"I also outlined the Ukrainian army’s critical needs separately. Due to the enemy’s constant attacks, air defense remains our top priority," he said.

Syrsky also expressed gratitude to the Alliance for consolidating allies’ efforts under the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, as well as for the effective work of NSATU, which provides daily coordination of international military aid deliveries, logistics, and the training and development of troops.

"I thanked the European Union for training more than 90,000 servicemen of Ukraine’s Defense Forces under the EU Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM). I stressed the importance of continuing professional training for Ukrainian troops with the involvement of foreign instructors," the commander-in-chief added.

"I am convinced that cooperation with the European Union and NATO is strategically important both for Ukraine and for our partners. Through joint efforts, we are strengthening security and laying the foundation for a stable and peaceful future," he said.
