As of the morning of April 24, consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Sumy, Kharkiv and Odesa regions are without power due to Russian drone attacks, NEC Ukrenergo said on Friday.

"Where security conditions currently allow, emergency restoration works are already underway," the company said.

In addition, due to adverse weather conditions in the form of strong wind gusts, over 100 settlements in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy and Mykolaiv regions have been fully or partially cut off from power as of Friday morning.

Repair crews of regional electricity distribution companies are already working to restore damaged lines, Ukrenergo added.

According to the system operator, electricity consumption is showing an upward trend and as of 09:30 on April 24 was 3.5% higher than at the same time the previous day - Thursday.

"The reason for the changes is the persistence of cold weather across all of Ukraine. Also, heavy cloud cover in most regions is causing low efficiency of residential solar panels and a corresponding increase in electricity consumption from the general grid," Ukrenergo explained.
