MSP of AFU completing investigation into possible offenses and abuses in 58th separate motorized infantry brigade of 14th army corps
The Military Law Enforcement Service (MSP) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is completing an investigation into possible offenses and abuses in the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade of the 14th army corps of the joint forces grouping.
"The MSP of the AFU closely monitors signals and responds to every report that may indicate violations of legislation or the rights of service members. Thus, in accordance with management decisions taken by the AFU commander-in-chief, an investigation into the situation that has developed in the unit is being completed. If confirmed, the facts of unlawful actions will receive the appropriate legal assessment and those responsible will be held accountable in accordance with Ukrainian legislation," the law enforcement officers said on Telegram.
The MSP noted that most of the facts mentioned on social media were already within the purview of law enforcement. Decisions on opening criminal proceedings are being considered on the basis of individual materials.
The service called on media representatives and the public to refrain from spreading unverified information, subjective assessments and premature conclusions that the enemy could exploit to amplify disinformation campaigns and manipulative information and psychological operations.
As reported on April 17, the deputy commander of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky was detained by law enforcement.
Ukrainska Pravda, citing its own sources, reported that the individual in question is Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Bobrovsky, who is suspected of extorting a bribe in exchange for a transfer from one military unit to another.
